2s.5 A virtual visit to the Sherlock Holmes museum in London

At the moment we are talking about Sherlock Holmes in class and reading one of his interesting cases. Today it's time for a virtual visit to the Sherlock Holmes museum in London!

Click on http://www.sherlock-holmes.co.uk/home.htm and answer the questions below on the blog:





A. Imagine you and your family are in London and you want to visit the Sherlock Holmes museum.

     1. Where in London is the museum? Write the address.

     2. How many people will visit the museum? How much will the tickets cost for all of you?

     3. A complete visit to the museum is approximately 2 hours long. You arrive at the museum at 4.30 p.m. Can you finish your visit? Why (not)?

     4. What is the only day of the year when you CAN’T visit the museum?


B. Now click on “Museum Tour” and skim the text. Can you find this information?

     5. The period of time when Sherlock Holmes and Watson lived in the house (according to the story).

     6. A special place where visitors can pose for photos.

     7. The floor Dr. Watson’s room is on.

 C. Look at the picture of Sherlock Holmes's study.

     8. Write a short paragraph about the study answering these questions:
         
          What can you see? Describe it.
          Do you think this study reflects Sherlock Holmes's personality? Why (not)?
          Compare it with the living room at your home. What is similar? What is different?
         
          Remember the structure of sentences in English: SUBJECT + VERB + OBJECTS

    2.- 4 people with visit to the museum.The tickets cost 22 pounds(£).
    3.- Not end the tour on time because they need more time.
    4.- Is doesn't open in Christmas day.

    2-I visit museum with my family,tickets cost(Adult 6€ & Child under 16 4€)

    3-We can't finish visit because complete visit is 2 hours,if we arrived at 4.30 p.m i can't complete the visit because museum close at 6 p.m We need 30 minuts more.

    4-I can't visit museum in christmas Day because it's closed

    5-They lived in 1881-1904

    6-They can go to the study and take photos

    7-Doctor Watson beedrom is on the 2nd floor

    2. Mª Carmen: 2 adults (12 euros), 1 child (4 euros) Total:16€
    jose:3 adults (18 euros),2 child (8 euros) total:26€
    3. I cant visit the museum because the museum finishes at 6pm
    4. We can't visit the museum on Christmas day
    5.Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson lived in a Victorian house between 1881-1904

    3-No, because i need more time.
    4-It closes in Christmas day.
    5-Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson lived in a Victorian lodging house at 1881-1904.
    6-Sherlock Holmes's study in the armchair
    7-Doctor Watson’s bedroom on the 2nd floor
    8-I can see: carpet, violin, clock, books, table, pictures, armchairs, candel.
    -Yes, because tehe study reflects a Sherlock Holmes.

    2- In my family there are person. There are a i child and 3 adult. My family the tickets coast £22.
    3- No but the museum closes at 6 o'clock at afternoon.
    4-They can't visit museum in Christmas Day, because it's closed

    3-No, because the museum closed at 6 o'clock.
    4-In the Christmas Day are open the museum.
    5-Sherlock Holmes and Watson live in the house at 1881-1904.
    6-Sherlock Holmes's study in this house.
    7-The room of the Doctor Watson are in 2nd floor.
    8- -I can see:armchairs,carpet,violin,candel,clock,books,table and pictures.

    - There are a similar chairs and different pictures in the room.Ther are a different library.

    8.- I can see deerstalker, magnifying glass, calabash pipe, violin, chemistry equipment, notebook, Persian slipper and disguises.

    8.a)I can see a living room, there are two chairs and one table, and a one fairplace.
    b)I don't no.
    c)My living room haven't got two moderns chairs, vthe similar is sofa and one fairplace, and my living room is simple.
